Carlos A. Rodriguez Jr. primarily handles removal defense immigration cases at Lee & Peynado Immigration Law Group. Carlos' practice is broad based and includes family-based immigration, immigration consequences of criminal offenses, asylum, waivers, and consular visas. He has extensive experience with individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), individuals seeking protection at the U.S.-Mexico border, and obtaining an immigration benefit despite having a criminal record. Carlos also regularly works with the U.S. State Department to obtain family visas for individuals outside of the U.S. He also works with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office to obtain family visas, victims of crime visas (U-Visa), victims of human trafficking visas (T-Visas), victims of domestic abuse visas (VAWA), among others, and for naturalization applications.

Prior to working with Lee & Peynado Immigration Law Group, Carlos worked for an Atlanta based immigration law firm, was an Assistant District Attorney in Bexar County, Texas, and worked with the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES). While at RAICES, Carlos worked closely with immigrant families arriving at the southern border to obtain their release from detention, where families with children as young as 3 months old were often detained for months.

Carlos is a native Spanish speaker and was raised along the southern border of Texas and Mexico as the son to immigrant parents. Carlos holds a special appreciation for those seeking asylum and protection in the United States. Having witnessed first-hand the harm many of his family members living in Mexico have suffered at the hands of the cartel, Carlos understands the fear and need of individuals feeling their home country for the safety of the U.S. Carlos understands each case impacts a unique individual and provides individualized attention to each client.
